May 17, 2004 – The William Morris Agency (WMA) and Reality Central cable network have entered a multi-faceted, long-term strategic alliance, it was announced today by the two companies. Additionally, Jim Wiatt, President and Chief Executive Officer, the William Morris Agency , will join the network's Advisory Board.

Under the agreement, WMA will work with Reality Central to expand the network's relationships with corporate sponsors and program suppliers for the channel.

This agreement marks the first time WMA has committed to an overall alliance with a television network in the sponsorship and programming arenas.

”We have always sought to work with companies that have distinctive visions, well-thought-out road maps for success and strong leadership teams,” said Wiatt.  “Reality Central has all of these attributes and promises to be a groundbreaking media venture for which we believe the skills of the William Morris Agency can play an integral role in helping it achieve its potential.”

”The William Morris Agency holds a preeminent position in the reality television, creative and corporate branding industries, and the relationship we've forged will accelerate the growth of Reality Central,” noted Kay Koplovitz, Chairman, Reality Central.  ”My partners, Larry Namer and Blake Mycoskie, and I are creating a true thematic network to serve an enormous global audience and to redefine the relationship between cable channels and entertainment technology.  Being linked with Jim Wiatt and his organization, their insight and resources, further validates our strategy and is a giant step forward toward realizing our goals.”

Reality Central will work with the William Morris Agency 's corporate consulting division (WMC) and its television department on a non-exclusive basis to generate marketing and content initiatives for advertisers and program suppliers. These opportunities will take advantage of the reality genre's proven strength in the Adults 18-34 demographic, as well as Reality Central's reach into the cable industry's newest technology.

“Our combination of a channel, broadband feed and exclusive VOD, PVR and wireless content offers brand marketers the means to partner with television beyond traditional avenues,” said Namer, President and Chief Executive Officer, Reality Central.

According to Paul Bricault, Senior Vice President, William Morris Consulting:  “Corporations want access to unique media resources offering breakthrough brand visibility.  Along with the unquestionable appeal of the genre it targets, Reality Central has created a diverse slate of marketing initiatives that leverage both content and technology.”

Under the direction of Mark Itkin, WMA’s Worldwide Head of Syndication, Cable, and Non-Fiction Programming, the agency will also generate partnerships for producers, networks and studios with the network.  ”Reality Central introduces a new dimension to the genre and opens the door to innovative opportunities,” said Itkin.  “Bringing together the reality programming community and a network seeking to monetize those assets is a win-win situation.”
