The morning directors on Big Brother entertain themselves, if not necessarily viewers, by periodically showing a basket of condoms. Don't tease us by implying that's a preview of coming attractions. The non-Gerry houseguests wake up between 11 and noon, and the early topic of discussion is the apparent bite on Lisa's rump, which isn't getting better and in fact seems to be making her sick. Amy says that statistics show the average person eats 8 spiders a night while sleeping. This doesn't improve the mood any.

The two houseguests who are more or less non-aligned right now, former archenemies Gerry and Josh, are talking again and seem to be edging towards a realization that they'll have to work together. Perhaps it's gotten through to Josh that he's the odd man out in his old alliance. He tells Gerry that he's worried about being nominated again by Marcellas, and Gerry replies that Marcellas is focused on the couples. Josh also informs Gerry that Marcellas isn't really as big a booster of his as he may think. Josh's goal remains ensuring that Lisa and Chiara are nominated-he apparently still thinks he can get in there with Eric and Roddy once the couples are eliminated. Gerry leans towards nominating the men.

The Eric-led veto meeting takes place off the feeds, but the general lack of reaction tells us what we already knew-there's no one vetoed for the second straight week. When normal life resumes, some of the houseguests chatter about reality TV while Josh tries to play good soldier, filling Chiara, Lisa, and Roddy in on his recent conversation with Gerry. The bottom line, apparently, is that everyone distrusts Josh more than ever now. Roddy isn't terribly concerned about Gerry, perhaps because he cut a separate deal with Gerry after winning Head of Household. Of course, Roddy has been counting his first-place check since he walked through the front door. He tells Chiara that the two of them plus Jason would be the ideal final 3 (no one wants to think about kicking out Jason).

Josh even goes over to talk some game strategy with Amy, who is likely leaving in three days. He immediately reports back to Roddy and says he was talking to her to try to get intelligence on Marcellas. He then talks to Marcellas about.game strategy. Josh doesn't see the connection between this behavior and his current status in the house. Marcellas gets Danielle's reaction to the afternoon's games of musical plotting. She's not worried about Josh and Gerry comparing notes, because Gerry doesn't know how to play the game and no one trusts Josh anyway. She tells Marcellas to seal all his agreements "with a kiss". She has similar advice for Jason, telling him that whenever he's asked who he'll vote for, he should just squeeze his questioner's shoulder-that means he won't have to lie.

How little anyone knows about Danielle comes up when Eric and Lisa try to figure out who she'd nominate. They don't really know, but Lisa figures (almost certainly incorrectly) Gerry and Josh. The two of them talk about plans for travel after the show and how many kids they would like-how sweet. Not long after, though, Lisa goes inside to lie down. There's word that she may have to see a doctor soon about the bite. The women get excited when they find some beer and wine that's been left for them. Roddy is alerted, and there are the inevitable jokes about hiding it from Amy. The early evening settles into the usual rut of card games and the Danielle-led abs class.

Things perk up when Lisa gets back from her visit to the doctor. Surprisingly, she has been told that her "spider bite" apparently isn't that at all. She'll be told more later, but for now, as a precaution, the houseguests are to use seat covers for the toilets (the doctors also told her what she has is not contagious). Lisa is in tears now; not only feeling sick but also worried. Chiara cooks dinner (pork chops) and has another little spat with Roddy (he doesn't want her telling him how he feels). Her teasing of him is pretty mild, but Roddy is not a laugh-at-himself kind of guy. Later, when talking with Eric, Roddy states that either Josh or Gerry will have to go next week, but that he'll make Chiara "sweat" because of what she said to him in the kitchen.

Jason finally gets somebody mad at him! It's Amy-Jason has suggested that she not drink before she leaves the house, and Amy feels she's being judged. Gerry agrees with her-Jason isn't so perfect either. For his part, Marcellas is still upset about Amy's overindulging the night before-he says that she ruined his special night. Amy is still riding high from her talk with Roddy the prior night, but the message she got out of it appears to be that she should blame herself for being on the block. She tells Marcellas that Roddy explained to her that the way she treated him caused him to nominate her. Roddy is nothing if not slick. But the immediate post-nomination anger seems to have faded, as Amy is now looking ahead to her return for the final vote with fondness. She later helps herself in the kitchen, slathering cream cheese on a slice of American cheese and rolling it up.

A late-night card game features sex talk from Danielle and Chiara that is so graphic that Marcellas says "J lost his virginity listening to that." Jason seems to be tiring of the constant baiting from the others, who love to see him embarrassed. When Jason heads to bed, Chiara follows him and sits on the bed. Jason tenses up. Chiara asks why Jason objects to something so (from her perspective) innocent. Jason talks about perception-it would be like a politician seen leaving a hotel with a prostitute, he says. Chiara takes exception to what was probably just a bad choice of words. Danielle tells Jason that alone among the houseguests, she doesn't kiss him goodnight, in deference to his modesty. Jason asks her for a kiss and she says no-you're too scared. The possibility of a Jason blowup sometime in the next 8 weeks in one big reason why people keep watching these feeds.
