Day 14 July 23, 2002 - Live Feed Updates  from BB3 Updates.com

Marcellas Snaps - by Charlie Toft

The day starts off boringly with Gerry cleaning the pool again, but stick with us because it gets real good at the other end. One thing is certain: if Gerry ever gets evicted the feeds will be completely dead every day until 11 AM. Of course, they’re none too alive anyway. Gerry does throw in a few new tricks, like cheating at solitaire. That's a very sad thing to see, and we begin to think that he probably steals candy from young children too. The other houseguests are up and at ‘em by noon, and the main topic of conversation is the women’s attitudes toward posing nude. It’s always nice to see young ladies thinking about their oh-so-bright futures. They participate in a luxury challenge, but the feeds go off so we don’t get to watch. Later we see that they’ve won a game similar to “Jenga”, which gives them something else to play besides Chess, Solitaire and Rummy.

Roddy works various strategy angles in the afternoon. He checks in with Josh and updates him on the progress of his talks with Jason. Talking later with Chiara, Roddy says that they can trust Jason in the end if they need to. As usual, Roddy gives the person he is talking to the idea that he or she is definitely part of his endgame plans. Amy, who ventures out of the Head of Household room, chats with Danielle in the hammock. Amy admits that she hasn’t been in a good mood lately, and asks Danielle to watch out for people trying to get rid of her. She says there was a “Hate Amy” club in her high school, so she’s used to negativity. Danielle gives her some friendly advice about the need to watch what you say sometimes, but then heads inside to immediately report the conversation to Roddy. Chiara and Danielle get into it later over the issue of marriage vows. Chiara doesn’t think they are all that important, saying why not share the wonders of sex with others? This sounds just great to Roddy, who really is an average guy beneath the intellectual veneer. Danielle retorts that she would divorce her husband immediately if he ever showed any interest in other women. The houseguests drift aimlessly into the evening, and Marcellas and Amy retreat to the Head of Household room for their daily dish session. Tonya bleaches her hair. Roddy tells Eric that a new alliance has been worked out with Jason replacing Tonya, which will hopefully last for the next few weeks. The truth is that Josh’s continuing presence in the alliance seems based entirely on strategy, no one likes him any more at all. Roddy and Eric take turns relating stories about Josh talking behind their backs.

Lisa continues her efforts to put some space between herself and the alliance, although she lacks the finesse and diligence of Roddy. She pulls Amy aside for a friendly chat, saying that she supports Amy’s right to flirt with Roddy. Lisa says that while she’s friendly with Chiara, she doesn’t like the way Chiara has treated Amy. Josh feels the strain of being nominated despite the optimistic reports he gets from Roddy about the vote. He confronts Chiara about reporting all the negative things he’s said to other houseguests. Chiara denies it angrily, and tells him again that she’s voting to evict him. He retaliates by saying that he doubts he’ll see her after the show is over. Afterwards Roddy tries once more to talk Chiara into keeping Josh, but admits that he doesn’t really trust Josh himself.

Dinnertime comes shortly after 9 PM, and Amy greedily drinks all the beer and wine she can get her hands on. She gets noticeably tipsy and unpleasantly aggressive. There’s some grumbling about how much of the wine she takes, obviously poaching from the other houseguests. Tonya tells Amy that she should go to Alcoholics Anonymous when she leaves the house and the situation starts to turn ugly. Amy makes a remark about going to the Diary Room, which leads Tonya to warn Amy that she had better not be trashing her in private.

When Marcellas hears about the incident, he goes ballistic. He bursts in on Tonya and starts defending his girl. “You have no business making judgments about Amy’s drinking”, he yells. The two of them argue back and forth passionately and he warns Tonya that she’d better more careful: she’s up for eviction and he holds the tie-breaking vote. A few minutes later they settle down, with Tonya attributing her anger to the stress of being nominated. Some of the other houseguests laugh about Marcellas showing a side that they hadn’t seen before. The producers get their staff out of bed and all the houseguests are called into the Diary Room one by one until well past midnight. Clearly this fight will be presented to the TV audience as a major dramatic moment.

As the night drags on, Tonya ruefully says “I bet Josh feels a lot safer,” and Lisa admits that she doesn’t want Tonya around if she’s going to act like that. But it seems that nothing will come quite so easily for Josh. Roddy and Eric compare notes again and find that they’re hearing very different things from Josh. Eric delivers what he no doubt believes is the worst possible insult: “The man is a woman.”

When Josh approaches Roddy later to complain about Chiara, Roddy lets him have it head on. He tells Josh that he knows he’s been talking trash about every one of his supposed teammates. When Josh tries to deny it, Roddy threatens to call the others over and compare notes. Josh quickly backs down and Roddy warns him to chill out. “You’re so stressed, you’re making it difficult for me to help you,” Roddy groans.

The evening ends with Amy telling the houseguests about Bill Clinton partying with her family, and that he inhaled. Roddy is still seething about Josh, but now says that getting Amy out is even more important than evicting Gerry. Josh has been reduced to the utter humiliation of playing chess with Gerry. The voting is only hours away, and if Josh thinks he’ll benefit by sucking up to Gerry he’s in deep trouble. As the night ends we see Eric in bed with Lisa, going boldly where no houseguest has gone before this year. We're not quite sure whether he's gotten to second base or third, but we do know that these two have at least one more week together. There's not a lot to do in this house and the chemistry between them is building daily. When they finally fall asleep, we realize that it's time to go to work and we didn't get any sleep at all tonight. Ouch!
